Richard Johnston



Richard Johnston is a contemporary bluesman. He brings his music all over the world and he is a one-man-band. I recently saw him live in Rome, he went on the stage and installed his equipment which consists in a drums set, with two snare drums played with pedals, amplifiers and a "cigar box guitar", a self made guitar that he made with a cigar box, two broom sticks and three strings. If you close your easy you'd think you are in front of a whole band, it is incredible the kind of sound he manages to create with that type of equipment. Beside the "cigar box", he also played the guitar, and he created a great feeling with the public, even the one of the La Palma club in Rome, usually very calm, with Richard Johnston at the end of the concert we were all standing and dancing.
