Atlas Soul - Mabrouka

I love the Mediterranean sound of this band, songs are in English, Italian, Spanish, Arabian and Hebraic. Atlas Soul are based in Boston and New York; they create a fine mix of Latin and Arabian sounds with elements of Funk, Jazz and Blues. A sort of World Music with the wonderful voice of Italian singer Angela Rossi. They also have a social aim: the unification of diverse world's cultures and musics. "World Music for World Peace!"

Songs List:

1 Angelo Mio (my Angel)
2 Quiereme Y Veras (love Me and You'll See)
3 Sole (sun)
4 Passa La Vida (life Goes On)
5 L'amour En Banlieue (love in the Suburbs)

Glasgow Jazz Festival 2007 Bigger and Better than Ever

22 June - 1 July 2007

The programme includes the very best of young British jazz talent, including Jason Yarde, Herbaliser, Byron Wallen and Neil Cowley, as well as well known and loved classic acts such as acid-jazz originators Incognito and the Godfather of modern UK jazz Courtney Pine.

Headliners this year include the UK debut of jazz guitar legend Pat Metheny alongside hotly tipped pianist Brad Mehldau, US greats Kenny Garrett and Randy Weston and, from closer to home, though famous throughout the world, guitarist Martin Taylor with his band Freternity and the long awaited return of Glasgow’s finest jazz vocal export Annie Ross.

Alongside this we have intimate shows from Mina Agossi, Julian Arguelles, Keith Tippett, Stephen Duffy, Liane Carroll and many more. Add in scores of fringe gigs in bars, clubs and hotels across the city and we have an amazing total of over 160 performances over ten days.
