This is absolutely one of my favorite records, the Coltrane I like most, when he also plays soprano sax. This is his first albu, with Atlantic label and his new quartet: McCoy Tyner (Piano), Elvin Jones (Drums) and Steve Davis (Bass) (Jimmy Garrison joined later).
Only four tracks but tehye're sublime.
His modal version of My Favorite Things, from musical "The Sound Of Music", is kind of hypnitic and repetitive, and had a great influence on psichedelic rock which would have rised just a few years later.
